The cross country Canadian portion of the 2007 World Harmony Run was launched with a well-attended ceremony on the BC legislature lawn today under warm and sunny skies. La portion cross-country canadienne de la Course de l'harmonie mondiale 2007 a pris son départ avec une cérémonie qui a attiré beaucoup de monde sur les gazons du Parlement de la Colombie-Britannique. The inner harbour of Victoria enveloped the run team like a garland, and Youth in Action award winners relayed last year’s Canadian harmony torch to ignite the 2007 flame.

Le port de Victoria enveloppait l'équipe de coureurs comme une guirlande. Les récipiendaires du prix Youth in Action se sont relayé le flambeau de l'an passé afin d'allumer la flamme de 2007.

Ida Chong from the BC government, husband and wife Marten and Nadina Schaddelee co-creators of Millennium Peace sculpture and local humanitarians David Stott and Saul Arbiss were honoured at the ceremony and presented words encouraging world harmony and unwavering commitment to community.

Ida Chong du gouvernement de la Colombie-Britannique, Marten et Nadina Schaddelee (co-créateurs de la sculpture Millenium Peace), ainsi que les humanistes locaux David Stott et Saul Arbiss furent honorés lors de la cérémonie. Ils ont parlé en faveur de l'harmonie mondiale et de l'engagement à la communauté.

Victoria was acknowledged as an exquisite example of harmonious living as the Lambick Park School Jazz Band and the inspirational Getting Higher Choir shared enthusiastic contributions.

It was synchronous to open Canada’s 2007 harmony journey on Earth Day! The soulful kick-off closed in front of Maarten and Nadina Schaddelee’s “Millennium Peace” marble installation at picturesque Clover Point, to commemorate its seventh anniversary.

Comme il fut opportun d'inaugurer ce périple de l'harmonie 2007 du Canada lors du Jour de la Terre ! Ce coup d'envoi fervent s'acheva à Clover Point devant le monument de marbre “Millennium Peace” de Maarten et Nadina Schaddelee, commémorant son septième anniversaire.
