Great Britain 21 June: Keswick - Windermere

Braithwaite School enthusiastically welcomes us into their morning assembly.

The bright faces of children really inspire us to continue on our journey.

Teekhnata, from California, guides these cheerful children as they run with the torch.

The Deputy Mayor of Keswick joins in the fun.

Alas, the fairys kept hiding from us in this enchanting forest.

The Lake District is a popular hiking destination - bring your wet weather gear!

We were charmed by the stone buildings, bridges and fences many dating back to the 16th Century.

Beware of crossing children!

Adverse weather does not stop the tough UK kids.

Borrowdale School kids lead the way.

Balavan's troupe acting out a prime example of harmony.

Take a close look at how sincerely these children are feeling harmony within. So sweet!

Nandathu, from California, takes some brief shelter in the van.

We auspicously and conincidentally visited Castlerigg Stone Circle on the summer solstice.

The rain cannot dampen our spirits :)

This is Dove Cottage where the famous English poet William Wordsworth visited as a child and lived with his family from 1799-1808.

And I have felt
A presence that disturbs me with the joy
Of elevated thoughts; a sense sublime
Of something for more deeply interfused,
Whose dwelling is the light of setting sins,
And the round ocean and the living air,
And the blue sky and the mind of Man
A motion and a spirit, that impels
All thinking things, all objects of all thoughts
And rolls through all things.
- William Wordsworth

Travellers from all over the world flock to this historical poetic haven.

This group of students from Indiana were travelling with the favorite English teacher.

The World Harmony Run proudly supports the International Year of Youth (IYY) and the International Year of Forests (IYF) proclaimed by the United Nations General Assembly.

See the recent Youtube video on African experience which illustrates IYY slogan "Our Year Our Voice"  International Year of Youth - Zambia World Harmony. They surprisingly mention Presidents and UN Secretary-General in a unique way!
