Ciao Italy, hello Greece, in one night we crossed the Adriatic and the Ionian sea, a nice opportunity for us to admire the beauty of the Greek coast.

Αντίο Ιταλία, γεια σου Ελλάδα, σε μία νύχτα περάσαμε την Αδριατική θάλασσα και το Ιόνιο πέλαγος και ήταν μία καλή ευκαιρία για μας να θαυμάσουμε τις ομορφιές του Ελληνικού τοπίου.

New flag, new legs, morning run at the arrival in Patras with the hills we have to conquer in the background.

Καινούργια σημαία, καινούργια δρομολόγια, πρωινό τρέξιμο στην άφιξή μας στην Πάτρα και στο φόντο τα βουνά που έχουμε να ξεπεράσουμε.

New language also! It took us a little time to adapt to the local way to say "Yes", which is "Ne", but somehow with children we always make a connection, irrespective of language and nationality.

Καινούργια γλώσσα επίσης! Μας πήρε λίγο χρόνο να συνηθίσουμε να λέμε «ναι» αντί «yes», όμως με κάποιο τρόπο η συνεννόηση με τα παιδιά πετυχαίνεται χωρίς να δίνουμε σημασία σε σύνορα και λέξεις.

Luckily this old lady and her husband were able to speak French and English fluently. They invited us to our first official Greek visit, and offered us some sweets as we stopped in front of their house to wait for a runner.

Ευτυχώς η κυρία της φωτογραφίας και ο σύζυγός της ήξεραν να μιλούν Γαλλικά και Αγγλικά πολύ καλά. Μας προσκάλεσαν στην πρώτη μας επίσημη επίσκεψη στην Ελλάδα και μας πρόσφεραν μερικά γλυκά στην παύση που κάναμε μπροστά στο σπίτι τους περιμένοντας έναν δρομέα.

There are places and people like these that make the morning all different. They didn't want to let us go and were very moved by our project. We actually would have stayed longer if our schedule would have permitted it.

Είναι μερικά μέρη και άνθρωποι που κάνουν τα πρωινά ξεχωριστά. Δεν ήθελαν να μας αφήσουν να φύγουμε και έδειξαν μεγάλο ενδιαφέρον για το έργο μας. Θα μέναμε σίγουρα περισσότερο αν το πρόγραμμά μας το επέτρεπε.

If you think that Greece is an arid place, you might be surprised! We spend the entire day between charming fragrant flowers and beautiful hills.

Όσοι νομίζουν ότι η Ελλάδα είναι άγονο μέρος, θα εκπλαγούν! Περάσαμε μία ολόκληρη μέρα μέσα σε μυρωδιές πανέμορφων λουλουδιών και υπέροχους λόφους.

This scene amazed us the first time, but as it repeated itself quite a few times during the day, we came to understand that something in the Peloponnesos hasn't changed since the Greeks gods created the world.

Αυτή η σκηνή μας ενθουσίασε την πρώτη στιγμή, αλλά επαναλήφθηκε αρκετές φορές μέσα στην μέρα και καταλάβαμε ότι κάποια πράγματα δεν έχουν αλλάξει στην Πελοπόννησο από τότε που οι Θεοί έφτιαξαν τον κόσμο.

Our Greek-Swiss element, Mrittunjoy Bader, will be a precious translator in this land where most of us can hardly pronounce correctly anything that is written on the signs.

Το μέλος της ομάδας μας, ο Ελληνο-Ελβετός Mrittunjoy Bader ήταν ένας πολύ χρήσιμος μεταφραστής, γιατί οι περισσότεροι από εμάς πολύ δύσκολα καταφέρναμε να προφέρουμε σωστά αυτά που γράφονταν στην πινακίδες.

The top of some of the mountains were still covered with snow, but neither Arthur nor anybody else left the road to climb those sharp slopes.

Τα βουνά ήταν ακόμη καλυμμένα από χιόνι, αλλά ούτε ο Arthour ούτε κάποιος άλλος άφησε το δρομολόγιο για να σκαρφαλώσει στις μυτερές κορυφές.

Welcoming three fresh runners gave us new energy to start our journey through those amazing landscapes.

Καλωσορίζοντας τρεις καινούργιους δρομείς, πήραμε φρέσκια ενέργεια για να συνεχίσουμε το ταξίδι μας μέσα σ’αυτά τα υπέροχα τοπία.

Pygros, the last city we reached, gave the team the opportunity to learn the customary greeting "hello how are you" in Greek, but we definitely need to work on our accent if we want to be answered.

Ο Πύργος, ο τελευταίος προορισμός, μας έδωσε την ευκαιρία να μάθουμε να λέμε «γεια σου, τι κάνεις» στα Ελληνικά, αλλά σίγουρα χρειαζόμαστε δουλειά στην προφορά, αν θέλουμε ανταπόκριση στους χαιρετισμούς μας.

It was a little bit unusual to be dressed on the street this way, but...I guess they are swimmers.

Ήταν λίγο ασυνήθιστο να ντύνεται κανείς με αυτόν τον τρόπο στον δρόμο, αλλά…έχω την εντύπωση ότι είναι κολυμβήτριες.

Kids are an infinite source of surprises and energy. After this swimming club finished their training session, they still could run a lap at the national stadium.

Τα παιδιά είναι μία αστείρευτη πηγή από εκπλήξεις και ενέργεια. Μετά την προπόνηση, αυτή η κολυμβητική ομάδα έτρεξε έναν γύρο στο εθνικό στάδιο. Ευχαριστούμε πολύ τον πρόεδρο του σταδίου κύριο Ιωάννη Αργυρόπουλο για την θερμή υποδοχή που μας έκανε.

The principal of the school of Paulos Athanasopulos and the children together tried to teach us how to scream our motto "Harmony begins with me". This was only the first lesson, in a few days and with practice we should be able to pronounce it.

Ο διευθυντής του σχολείου, Παύλος Αθανασόπουλος και τα παιδιά προσπάθησαν να μας διδάξουν πώς να φωνάζουμε το σύνθημα «η αρμονία ξεκινάει από εμένα», αλλά ήταν μόλις το πρώτο μάθημα. Σε λίγες μέρες και με εξάσκηση θα είμαστε σε θέση να το προφέρουμε.
