Our day started close to Granada, a beautiful city in southern Spain. While running towards the city, we saw the famous Alhambra palace on the hill above. Unfortunately, we saw this castle, church, fortress and palace , which is built in the Arabian style, only from a far distance, as our schedule for today was very tight.

From Granada we took a small road which wound its way along the great Sierra Nevada Mountains, whose highest point is more than 3500 meters above sea level. Our road did not climb that high, but we still had a very good hill workout.

Nuestro día comenzó ya cerca de Granada, una hermosa ciudad al sur de España. Mientras corríamos hacia la ciudad, pudimos ver el famoso palacio de La Alhambra en lo alto de la ciudad. Desafortunadamente, debido a nuestro ajustado horario para hoy, sólo pudimos verlo de lejos. Desde Granada tomamos una pequeña carretera que fue ondeando junto a las grandes montañas de Sierra Nevada, cuyo punto más alto supera los 3500 metros sobre el mar. Nuestro recorrido no escaló tan alto, pero aún tuvimos un buen entrenamiento en subida.

Not that we gave much thought about our legs; we were too busy admiring the beauty everywhere.

Aunque no pensamos mucho en nuestras piernas, ocupados en admirar la belleza por todas partes.

Among the wonders we beheld on our route were the snow-capped peaks, and the unusual landscape below the snow-line: the rock formations reminded us of the Bryce canyon in Utah.

Entre las maravillas que contemplamos en nuestra ruta estaban las cumbres nevadas, y el paisaje inusual por debajo de la linea de nieve : las formaciones rocosas nos recordaron a las del cañón Bryce en Utah (USA)

We left the Sierra Nevada Mountains far behind and came to another big highway A-92N. Inspired by the speed of passing cars and trucks, we speeded up to the city of Baza. We came there just in time to meet a group of children from the CEIP Jabalcon school accompanied by our friend Alberto. Everybody ran together with us through the city to the main square where we had a little ceremony. We said a few words about the run to the children, played a game and sang the World-Harmony-Run song composed by Sri Chinmoy.

Dejamos muy atrás las montañas de Sierra nevada y entramos en la autovía A-92. Inspirados por la velocidad de los coches y camiones que pasaban, aceleramos nuestro paso subiendo hasta la ciudad de Baza. Llegamos allí justo a tiempo para pasar el relevo a un grupo de chicos y chicas del Colegio Jabalcón acompañados por nuestro amigo Alberto. Todos corrimos juntos a través de la ciudad hasta la Plaza principal donde tuvimos una pequeña ceremonia. Hablamos con los chicos y todos los presentes sobre la carrera y cantamos la canción de World-Harmony-Run compuesta por Sri Chinmoy.

Afterwards we stayed at Alberto's flat; he is really a very kind-hearted and self-giving host. We hope we meet him again soon.

Después cenamos y nos hospedamos en casa de Alberto, un anfitrión realmente amable y con un gran corazón. Esperamos verle nuevamente pronto.
