23 May, Hamilton:

The afternoon in Hamilton was full of the fun and excitement of new faces and places. Our core team has also gone through a few changes with new people to add their energy and inspiration to the mix; Anvita Winter showed particular flair with his lively and interactive addresses to the children.

For the first event at St. Daniel Elementary school, we were joined by a team of runners from a neighboring school, St. Margaret Mary Elementary. The forum began when principal Lenjosek read a touching letter of welcome for the World Harmony Run on behalf of Larry Di Ianno, Mayor of Hamilton. At the end of the event, the school presented all the runners with gift-wrapped pens that had the school’s motto, “Compassion, Wisdom, Knowledge”, on them.

L'après-midi à Hamilton était empreint de joie et d'excitation. Il fallait voir ces nouveaux visages et ces nouveaux endroits! De nouveaux coureurs se sont joints à notre équipe sur la route, qui nous font profiter d'une énergie et d'une inspiration nouvelles. Anvita Winter a démontré un tact particulier par son approche enjouée auprès des enfants.

Pour le premier événement à l'école élémentaire St-Daniel, nous avons été accompagnés d'une équipe de coureurs d'une école primaire avoisinante, St-Margaret Mary. La présentation a débuté quand le directeur, M.Lenjosek, a lu une lettre de bienvenue touchante au nom du maire de Hamilton, Mr.Larry Di Ianno. À la fin de l'événement, l'école offrit aux coureurs, dans des emballage-cadeaux, des stylos sur lesquels on pouvait lire la devise de l'école : " Compassion, Sagesse, Connaissance ".

We then took to the streets with the student runners and made our way to St. Margaret Mary, where Principal Wendy Graviek greeted us with an encouraging speech. Father Bill Trusz of St. Margaret Mary’s parish was also present to hold the torch and offer his support.

Nous avons alors repris le chemin avec les coureurs étudiants vers l'école St-Margaret Mary où le directeur, M.Wendy Graviek, nous souhaita la bienvenue dans un discours très encourageant. Le père Bill Trusz de la paroisse St-Margaret Mary manifesta son soutien en tenant le Flambeau.
