Por encima de la extendida metrópolis de Bogotá se encuentra una pequeña iglesia dentro de un complejo cristiano denominado Santuario de Monserraet al cual se accede por telesférico y un sistema ferroviario muy empinado.

Above the sprawling metropolis of Bogota is a small church  within a Christian compound called Santuario de Monserrate accessible by cable car and a very steep rail system.

El Padre Saniel Saldarriaga nos encontró en la estación del telesférico y llevó nuestra antorcha hasta la iglesia. Fue el trayecto muy empinado y llegamos a los 10 mil pies (3.000 metros) de altura. El Padre Saldarriaga no tuvo inconvenientes con la escalada y dejó a muchos de nosotros sin recobrar el aliento.

Padre Daniel Saldarriaga met us at the cable car station and carried our torch up to the church. It was quite steep and we were at 10,000 feet. Padre Saldarriaga had no trouble with the climb and left many of us panting for air.

El Padre Saldarriaga encendió muy amablemente nuestra antorcha con una vela en el altar.

Padre Saldarriaga very kindly lit our torch from a candle at the altar.

Después del oficio cantamos nuestra canción de la Carrera de Armonía Mundial.

After the service we sang our World Harmony Run song.

Numerosos visitantes sostuvieron la antorcha y formularon un deseo por la paz mundial.

Many of the visitors held the torch and made a wish for world peace.
