Lithuania 26 July: Kaunas - Siauliai

We started our day at the eternal flame in Kaunas. The city sport representative welcomed us and gave us nice souvenirs and then some local runners joined us for a city run, after which we left Kaunas.

The next meeting took place in Kedainiai. The city representative was waiting to receive us at the city limits, with lots of food, a TV crew and some local runners. The police led us through the city and we continued our journey.

At noon we reached Baisogala, where the mayor greeted us and invited us for a really nice lunch.

More runners joined in and with too-full stomachs we had to go on.

As we reached Seduva, the cultural director met us on the road. The city brought kids, a musician and some other people. Local traditional refreshments were served.

A really nice meeting with all those hearty people!

Later on we reached Radviliskis. The city representative there invited us for: more food! From one point of view, we are really happy that the country is so small: if we had to run more days through Lithuania we would probably add too many pounds...

All day we had local runners carrying the torch from one city to the next - Lithuania is a really athletic country!

The last meeting took place in Siauliai. The sport representative and local runners met us on the outskirts of the city, and we ran together all the way to our accommodation place.
