Latvia 27 July: Tukums - Kuldiga

We started in Tukums, with the local track and field club joining us for quite some kilometres. After running out of the city, we entered the beautiful countryside of the Baltic forests.

Near Kandava we met a group of kids just outside the city, and they ran through the whole town with us. The mayor was waiting for us in the main square, where a really nice group of folk dancers performed for us.

After the ceremony, the mayor and the kids spontaneously ran the whole way out of the city, most of it uphill!

In Sabile, kids joined and ran to a square where two musicians waited for us; they gave a really excellent performance. Children's drawings from the project "Oneness Heart Smiles" were exhibited, and we ran up to the place where some trees have been planted in connection with the drawing project.

As we reached the border region of Renda, a bus with athletes from the Kuldiga Marathon Club met us. Together, we kept running.

As we reached Renda, a group of kids was waiting for us along the main road.

They brought torches with them, which we lit with our torch before running together to a nearby school, where food was served.

The kids kept running enthusiastically with us to the city hall, where the mayor received us.

The runners from the Kuldiga Marathon Team ran with us all the way to Kuldiga.

Passing the widest waterfall in Europe, we arrived at the city hall. The mayor invited us for refreshments and the raising of the World Harmony Run flag at the city square ended our official day!
