New Zealand 12 June 2006: Wellington to Palmerston North

Our day started at 9.15 as our enthusiastic runners entered Mt Cook School. (Former primary school of two of our runners, Rupashri and Kallola.)

Uddipan gave a great introduction to what our mission is. He gave two presentations back to back because of the rainy weather. (There was not a room big enough to house all the kids.) They were very happy to see us again for the second year and said they look forward to seeing us again next year.

As we ran into Thorndon School the kids welcomed us with an amazing round of applause, which inspired a very nice presentation and nice happy warm feelings. It was a real sense of oneness and an unspoken harmony between all of us. Before we left we all made a silent wish for world harmony and the sincerity of the children was magic.

As the runners hit the road to Palmerston North, the weather REALLY took a turn for the worst! Heavy rain, 130km gusts and even hail didn’t even manage to discourage these harmony run soldiers! Although it was a dark, and very cold day, the miles were covered and the runners made it safely to their accommodation.

Speaking of accommodation, we would like to offer our heartfelt gratitude to the owners of the following motels for kindly donating rooms for our runners:
