USA 8 June: Casitas Springs, CA - Santa Maria, CA

Thank you so much to the Holiday Inn Express & Suites in Carpinteria for offering the men's team a much needed deep rest!

Thank you to the Four Points Sheraton in Ventura for hosting the women's team. The women's team had rave reviews and really loved the spa!

The women's team had a beautiful morning run through the foothills along the coast.

Back on the road in sunny California. We will be running without flame in this very dry area.

We met these very nice cousins who stopped to greet us. They are doing their own trek around the Southwest, some 5000 miles.

The Boys & Girls Club of Carpinteria very kindly welcomed us for an afternoon ceremony.

This was as relaxed as the kids got.

They really seemed to enjoy guessing which country we were from.

Rich did a great job inspiring the kids about our mission.

The kids needed a little help guessing Ukraine.

It was smiles all around!

The Boys & Girls Club of Lompoc were our next hosts.

The children got great joy from holding the torch!

The Torch-Bearer Award was offered to community leader Dena Kern, who unfortunately was called away and could not attend.
