Australia 14 March: Perth

Harmony Day Interview – Live on ABC Radio

Veeraja Uppal from the World Harmony Run interviewed byPerth ABC Radio's Sinead Mangan – 2008

As an advent to Harmony Day celebrations in the Western Australian city of Belmont, the 720 ABC Breakfast Show – Perth’s highest rating radio show – conducted a live cross to the World Harmony Run this morning.

Tomorrow, the World Harmony Run will be the main attraction at the official Harmony Day celebrations. The event will feature runners and walkers from diverse cultures and faiths carrying the flaming torch in a marathon relay around Tomato Lake in Belmont.

To set the scene our intrepid torchbearers, Prabuddha Nicol and Veeraja Uppal, journeyed to Tomato Lake for an early morning live cross to the ABC to advertise Saturday’s event and the upcoming run around the continent.

It was just as well they had the torch fully lit, as it was the only light available in the early morning.

The interview was a great success and the World Harmony Run would like to pass on their sincere thanks to the City of Belmont and 720 ABC Perth.

– Veeraja Uppal
