Australia 22 April: Adelaide

Today I met with the coach and some team players from 'Link Lightning Adelaide' in the WNBL (Women's National Basketball League).

Adelaide's Link Lightening lend their support to the World Harmony Run, 2008

Link Lightning won the WNBL championship 2007/08 recently and have been going strong since 1993 when they formed their team.

Attending the meeting were Vicki Valk (the coach), Sam Woosnam (the winning Captain) and Mia Newley (a star player who just got back from 2 years in the Australian Institute of Sport). The coach and team members ere in awe of the Australian World Harmony Run and are going to continue to participate by having Mia and some other team members join the team to run into the Ceremony in Adelaide on 5th June.

They said today, "Link Lightning are honoured to be a part of the World Harmony Run. This is bringing good will into the community and having everyone work together as we do in our team!" Thank you Link Lightning for your participation and kind wishes.

Also...

Today Kylie picked up from 'S.A. Printed Labels' the first instalment of the thousands of World Harmony Run stickers they have been extremely kind to donate the printing of. 17,000 blue and white WHR stickers will accompany Kylie this week up to Brisbane to give to every little boy and girl in schools along the route for the Eastern leg of the route. Then once arriving in Adelaide, we load up another 13,000 stickers from S.A. Printed Labels to give out for the rest of the route around Australia! The donation of 30,000 stickers was truly a heartfelt sign of giving that no-one could stick a label on! We are very grateful for the support they have shown that allows us to spread thousands of joyful smiles upon school children's faces all around our continent. The staff were a little shy at the prospect of a photo to put on our website to show "thanks for the support" and ducked the camera, allowing only an image of the store's sign!
