France 29 June: Grau du Roi - Montpellier

It was a short program today, because we had to drive to Paris to meet the other team. However, this last run in the south of France was full of events.

We actually took the very ancient path of Compostel, the world famous pilgrimage. Brother Jean-Michel de la Miséricorde, a Catholic almoner ran with us; that's him running in the middle of our team.

At the entrance to Montpellier, two policemen riding bicycles led us through the recently renovated city, toward the Opera House.

The feeling of this city is very timeless; in the middle of the the old cobblestones, a brand new tramway has been installed, bringing vibrant colour to the streets.

We then went to encounter the kids from another Steiner School.

They sang us songs in German and Russian; some of our runners from these countries were very moved.

They really painted and decorated the wholeschool to make everybody feel at home; we really enjoyed the familiar atmosphere of this school.

And before we took the long road to Paris we were invited by Tripti Kulai, a delicious vegetarian restaurant in the centre of the city, to have a tasty lunch.
