Morocco 30 May: Fes - Meknes

We started from the city of Fes - the ancient Heart of Morocco where the oldest university in the world was established as far back as the 9th century.

We were greeted by the city authorities, traditional folk music and then taken round "Medina" - the old city of Fes which the inhabitants are very proud of. We got no less than the Head of the Tourism office as our guide and escort.

Peppermint tea is the traditional drink here, so we were given a special tea pot for preparing that refreshing drink by the Director of the Tourism office, Abdelmalek Tazi.

The arrival to the city of Meknes was just as special. Being accompanied by the top local teen athletes we were received by the whole delegation of authorities of the city and province of Meknes and (of course) many children.

We are very grateful to our dear friend Mustapha Meskini who has become an organizing pillar for the entire World Harmony Run in Morocco. He is a real man of action and a great organizer.

A very nice article was published in Attajdid , one of the four main national newspapers.

Hanka from Prague is shown here giving an interview in Arabic to the national Radio. We are so fortunate to have her here. She is our connection to the heart of the country.
