What a welcome! Right at the border, we met the Ukrainian team and lit its torch with ours. When we had completed the border procedures, our big group was traditionally received with bread and salt, by a small local committee.

Оце так вітання! Відразу на межі ми зустріли українську команду і запалили їх факел від свого. Коли ми завершили всі обов'язкові процедури на кордоні нашу велику группу з хлібом і сіллю зустріла невеличка группа представників місцевої влади.

We met this gentleman along the road, and he was kind enough to let us take water from his well. Thank you :)

Цього чоловіка ми зустріли по дорозі й він був настільки доброзичливий, що дозволив набрати колодезної води для всієї команди . Дякуємо! :)

We also had our lunch break here. The city invited us to a nice place where we were served salad, soup and a potato dish, and pancakes for dessert. Mmmmnnnnnnnn....

Там також нас нагодували обідом. Місто запросило нас до гарного кафе, де подали салат, суп, картоплю і млинці на десерт.

After running about 7 km through the city, we arrived in front of the city hall.

Пробігши приблизно 7 км по місту, ми прибули до театру.

The famous Ukrainian poet Taras Shevchenko, looking down on little Olga... We were given a short tour through the nearby park. Chernihiv is one of the oldest cities in the Ukraine and it has many very well-preserved artifacts and buildings from almost 1000 years ago...

Відомий український поет Тарас Шевченко дивиться униз на маленьку Ольгу...

У нас був невеличкий тур парком. Чернігів - одне з найдавніших міст України і має багато артефактів і будівель, що добре зберіглися за 1000 років...
