USA 15 August: New Haven, CT - Port Chester, NY

Our last day officially on the road began with the Wakeman Boys and Girls Club. Boijayanti shared the joy of the run with the group.

Yuyudhan fielded the questions from a very colorful and enthusiastic crowd.

First Selectman of Fairfield, Ken Flatto came to hold the torch and offer a proclamation.

A few hundred more hands and many more wishes greeted and filled the torch.

In Westport, we were graced with the presence of Ms. Aye Aye Thant of the U Thant Institute.

We offered her the Torch Bearer's Award for continuing in her late fathers footsteps bringing about peace and harmony in the world.

First Selectman Gordon Joseloff also joined us to show his support of world harmony. We were very grateful for their presence.

After the presentation, we were given a great italian lunch of manicotti and salad. Thank you Bikashita!

While some of the team was in Westport, several other members went to the Maritime Aquarium at Norwalk. We made a presentation on the run at the seal feeding!

Certainly a unique venue!

Mayor Richard Moccia addressed the crowd and introduced the team. His lovely City Clerk and nationally ranked senior Olympian, Mary Roman joined us again to show her support and run a short distance with the torch. "I'm a sprinter" she said.

We presented Mary with the Torch Bearer's Award for her outstanding community service and inspiring determination in athletics. She currently holds three national records!!!

In Stamford, we were invited to give our presentation to the Boys and Girls Club.

They were all dressed in different color T-shirts for a stunning look.

Smiles broke out everywhere as the counsellors took hold of the torch and headed for the soccer field. The kids loved running and holding the torch.

Thank you so much Stamford Boys and Girls Club. We had a blast!

The last team running for the day set foot in New York then high tailed back to our diggs for the evening. A celebration was ahead.

Each run we are hosted by our great friends Nidrahara and Nripal with an excelent dinner and a relaxing celebration of the run's conclusion.

Salil very nicely presented each runner with a parting gift to express his gratitude for their contribution to the run.

Shyamala was one of two to go the entire four months. We are especially grateful to all her efforts and service.

Yuyudhan only missed three weeks and was a patient and supportive captian!

Congratulations to the entire team!

The next morning the clean-up began. A long arduous job, but it had to be done.

Some people enjoyed it more than others. It was always hard to get the smile off Jeromy's face. Thanks for all the great places to stay!
