Bernice Matthews

Bernice started running about 10 years ago and she love what it did for her life so much that she continued with it. "I enjoy the feeling of strength and freedom that running gives me, and I am forever in awe of the beautiful scenery that I get to run through in Canberra."

She has participated in the World Harmony Run a number of times – in USA, Norway and Australia as well. "On each occasion, I've found the World Harmony Run to be a very, very special and precious experience which I will always treasure."

There are not too many people who would willingly run through Australia's top-end, but Bernice is excitedly looking forward to her time with the team and running in a totally different environment. "It's a place that I've never been to before. We have three weeks to run between Darwin and Brisbane, and no doubt there will be many adventures along the way."
