Runar Gigja

Runar is 30 years of age. He lives in Iceland and he loves the beautiful landscape, fresh air and the freedomof his homeland. But this year he's ready to expand his horizons by taking on the challenge of running with the World Harmony Run around the entire continent of Australia. He also wants to see some of the unique native animals.

Once he's out on the road, Runar can be assured of finding stunning scenery, lots of fresh air, a vast amount of freedom and a few kangaroos and koalas too.

Runar Gigja meets with city authorities of Rabat - World Harmony Run

Runar first ran in the World Harmony Run in 1987, when he was only 9 years-old.

The things he enjoys about running are – the open spaces; the freedom of going anywhere he wants on foot; the health benefits; and the improvements in stamina and endurance.

His philosophy: "I like the idea that you can run as much as you want if you are willing to break the limitations of the mind and also I love the feeling of running in the creation, created by the creator."
