In accepting the invitation to be the New South Wales Patron of the World Harmony Run, Premier Morris Iemma wrote:
"New South Wales is home to one of the most diverse multicultural populations in the world, and I am therefore delighted to be part of this marvellous celebration of global goodwill.
"The ideal of people living in harmony, sharing their best qualities and developing mutual respect is a vision I share for New South Wales and the whole nation.
"In that spirit, I send my best wishes to the runners, organisers and supporters of this timely and historic event."
