Austria 12 September: Judenburg - Bad Aussee

The day started with mystical fog rising from the hills around Judenburg, spreading a very peaceful feeling over the valley.

Little did we know that it was to become an extremely busy and fulfilling day!

We arrived at the main square in Judenburg, and kids from the primary school welcomed us enthusiastically.

The mayor received the torch and we ran once around the square together.

Afterwards we went to the retired people's home, which had  hosted us for dinner last night. World Harmony Runners are all people who stay young in the heart!

Three generations: grandmother, daughter and...

We went on to Pöls, where all the kids from both the primary  and secondary schools welcomed us in the main square!

Pöls is a community dedicated to human rights, so the inhabitants really treasure the vision of harmony, peace and oneness!

The mayor received the torch, and all together we ran to the school...

The next stage brought us all the way up to Hohentauern, where the local priest received us in the old traditional church and also blessed the torch.

After a speedy downhill run we reached Trieben. Runners from the local HTL school joined us.

In Trieben we also met runners from the Rottenmann Running Club "Idee". They joined us for a distance of approx. 30km!

Together we ran through the picturesque Enns valley...

In Selzthal, kids from the primary school and the kindergarten welcomed us. The kids carried lots of flags, which made it a very colourful run!

The deputy mayor received the torch, and great refreshments ended a happy meeting.

In Liezen our new runner-friends from "Idee" finished and the deputy mayor received the torch!

Thanks for a great Run!

Our next stop brought us to Wörschach. Wörschach is famous for its 24-hour Run! The whole community is dedicated to this special event and the people really embody a sporting spirit!

Kids with flags greeted us and after a torch blessing by the local priest, the mayor took the opportunity for a run in traditional leather trousers!

We went on to Steinach, where kids from the primary school greeted us enthusiastically.

After a short presentation the deputy mayor and all the kids ran once around the square...

Slowly the day came to an end, but there were still a few meetings and km. to go...

We reached Bad Mitterndorf and took the mayor on a short run around the community centre...

On the last stage of the Run for today, we reached Bad Aussee. The mayor of Altaussee and other local runners carried the torch into the centre of Bad Aussee, where the community representative welcomed us.

A joyful day found a happy ending in the main square, where more refreshments were served.

Thanks to all helpers and participants for this unique day!
