Austria 13 September: Bad Aussee - Wels

We left bad Aussee in the morning,  for our first destination, Altaussee.

The mayor, who ran with us the previous evening,  greeted us in a quite different outfit - traditional Altausseer leather  trousers!

The Ausseer region is famous for its gingerbread cookies...

A short run with the mayor ended our first meeting and we went on to the last climb, crossing the Alps.

Our brave runners uphill on the way to the "Pötschen", passing traditional houses in the mountains...

Lake "Hallstättersee", one of the most beautiful lakes in the Salzkammergut region.

Maybe we should get a few of these cars for our Run!

We reached Bad Goisern and the mayor (plus son!) welcomed us.

One way to put a sticker right....

Anybody know where to go?

The mayor and another runner joined us for several km...

"Torch-service", on the road...

Soon we reached Bad Ischl, famous summer residence of the Austrian emperors.

The mayor welcomed us and spoke kind words...

As we reached Lake "Traunsee", we couldn't resist a short swim, although the temperature had already dropped  dramatically...

Our next meeting happened to be in Altmünster.

The mayor received us in a nice spot next to the lake...

Map business...

In Gmunden we arrived at the old main square...

The city representative welcomed us and brought us to a local track & field festival...

300 kids took part in various track & field activities...

An old friend of the World Harmony Run, Austrian Decathlon champion Dr. Georg Werthner, received the torch...

Together with the mayor of Gmunden and some athletes, we ran a symbolic lap for Harmony!

In the evening we reached Wels, our final destination for today.

A stringed-instruments group welcomed us...

The city representative received us and we then finished,  singing the World Harmony Run Song together...
