Austria 17 September: Vienna - Klingenbach

Our last day in Austria and finally the weather-Gods smiled at us again. Still it was quite cold and windy, but everybody was happy to leave the rain behind!

there are no obstacles once the mind of our team is set...

Our first meeting brought us to Bad Vöslau...

Kids from the sport-secondary schol, the "Sonderschule" and the regular primary school welcomed us on the school grounds.

We presented the Run and all the kids took the torch!

take a wish for Harmony!

A short Run ended the hearty meeting!

As we approached Ebreichsdorf kids from the primary school and the secondary school waited at the entrance of the community and together we run to the city hall.

fortunately you can wash off the stamps...

the mayor received the torch!

thanks for participating!

Many thanks also to the Police for guiding us a quite long distance!

Next stop was the primary school in Wimpassing. The kids were freezing in the wind, but enthusistically singing for us!

The kids sang a "rainbow"-song for us...

poems were recited...

Some of our team members had to go back to primary school!

Also the mayor took a few steps with the torch and the meeting ended with highly desired hot tea!

Finally we reached Klingenbach. Runners from the Austrian Military were already waiting to join us for the last km's in Austria.

Our last hearty meeting in Austria! The mayor received the torch and all together we run a few steps.

All together we embarked for the last stretch to the Austrian-Hungarian border.

Birgit Koschischek, member of the Austrian Swimming team in Beijing, carried the torch to the border...

As we reached the border, a Hungarian delegation was already waiting.

the last meters...

The mayor of Klingenbach hands over the torch to the mayor of Sopron!

Oberst Schleischitz from the Austrian Military and the mayor of Sopron took a few symbolic steps!

Thanks again to the Austrian Military for its support and symbolic participation in the World Harmony Run!

Just 1500km to go - good bye Austria, hello Hungary!
