Germany 23 May: Wildeshausen - Hamburg-Harburg

We started the day at the Wallschule, in the city of Wildeshausen; 18 classes of children and highly motivated teachers (and music teachers! - the school has a unique international "Good Morning Song") welcomed the team and the torch.

Children painted for us!

Two inspired runners!

Having covered 120 km in an easterly direction yesterday, we now went a little to the north, visiting another school in the city of Delmenhorst (including another round of autograph signing) and then going for the major city of the region, Bremen.

We held a ceremony at the world famous Bremer Stadtmusikanten monument (Bremen Town Musicians from the Brothers Grimm fairy tale) before going on towards Hamburg (we reached the southern outskirts of Hamburg-Harburg after doing a whopping 150 km!).

On the way, the Ladies Soccer Team of Ottersberg ran with us, and we then had a cosy and humorous reception by the sports club of Sottrum, with the Mayor of Sottrum welcoming us on the municipal sports ground.

Another sunny day full of dynamism, new friendships and recognition of how good the hearts of people are, wherever you go in this world.

– Aditya
