Hungary 22 September: Kartal - Salgotarjan

What a surprise! At least two hundred joyful children greeted us in Kartal with the peace doves that they made.

Vice mayor Szoke Istvanne is holding the torch, while Gerhat Petra-marathon runner- decorates the torch with a ribbon.

This band learned the World Harmony Run song and the choir sang it in hungarian.

Who did not taste our pogacsa yet?

At our next meeting Szabo Mihaly, mayor of Palotas welcomed us and also offered the ribbon of their village.

The students of the school presented an amazing folk dance in traditional hungarian style.

In spite of her young age, Nagy Edina is a world champion in karate.

Of course we are proud of her achievement. Congratulations!

Heading towards our next goal, Paszto.

We felt very welcome as the orchestra was playing and the kids were singing for us when we arrived.

And the dance group performed a colorful folk dance.

In the elementary school of Tar, the children were enthusiastic to hold together the torch,...

and they showed their dance as well.

Happy runners (but where is the usual traffic jam??)

And the happy ladies of Matraverebely.

We ran together to Batonyterenye with the local sport club where more than hundred children waited us, singing the World Harmony Run song in their mother tongue.

We were recieved in Kazar by the representative of the village, followed by performance of singing...

and more live music!!

Our final meeting of the day with the vice mayor of Salgotarjan and Balazs Pal who was member of the olympic soccer team.

The runners of the Batonyterenye sport club ran with us until the last steps.
