Hungary 17 September: Klingenbach - Fertoszeplak

Today the run arrived in Hungary! We were very happy with the warm welcome we received.

The local runners from Austria and the mayor of Klingenbach  ran with us to the border.

At the border we received blessings from above - this time not rain, but rose-petals.

A lot of people were waiting for us, including the women's football team Soproni FAC, ready to run with us.

A representative from the Military carried the torch across the border, and handed it to the vice-mayor of Sopron.

Then the running really started!

It is great to have so many people running with us!

The students from Szechenyi I Gymnasium were waiting along the road to join us, so our team got bigger every few hundred metres.

Let's run!

With the team, the local runners and the students combined, we had a big event occurring!...

There was a band performing for us at the main square in  Sopron. The band sang the World Harmony Run Song!

The next meeting was in the Sopronköhida Prison.

We gave a presentation to a group of prisoners. They asked us questions about the run and after that they passed the torch.

The Head of Department received the "Torch Bearer Award" for his work for harmony.

Thanks to everybody who ran with us today, and to all the people that welcomed us. It was an impressive first day!
