Hungary 18 September: Fertoszeplak - Pápa

The first morning in Hungary, and we found ourselves running with lots of children in Fertod. What a great start to the day!

When we came into the gym, the girls performed "dancing in the rain" for us. The bright yellow umbrellas chased away the clouds for the whole day.

The mayor, Fulop Geza, greeted us with heartfelt words.

Making a wish for harmony.

Hurray!

Our journey continued to Fertoszentmiklos, where hundreds of children came to join us in the Run.

It was an incredible long line of runners!

The mayor was very happy to recieve the torch, and sent his good wishes for harmony.

Some of our new team members...

Can you also feel harmony?

As we arrived in Beled, these women greeted us with hungarian folksongs.

Tompáné Balogh Maria, the mayor of this town, is working very hard to develope this area. Therefore she recieved the "Torch Bearer Award"

Our friend Dr. Toth Jozsef -former rector of the University of Pécs- gave an inspiring speech about Sri Chinmoy, the founder of the Run.

Before we entered Kemenesszentpeter, we were invited to eat "pogacsa", a traditional small salty cake.

Not only the children feel harmony, also the grown-ups can do it!

Hello runners!!!

The kids from Nagyacsad ran all the way to the border of the village with us.

While running to Pápa, our final destination of the day, we got the company of local athletes.

At what time did we finish?

It was an impressive day, with so many people joining the Run. Thanks to all of you who were running with us!
