Our morning began at two schools in Firenze, where the children were extremely noisy and excited to see us.

La nostra mattinata è iniziata in due scuole a Firenze in cui i bambini erano estremamente chiassosi ed eccitati nel vederci.

The children at the second school were only four or five years old but they sang us a very sweet song, in perfect English, about being friends. As it was a beautiful day and we had some free time, we went into the city for a photo shoot by the Ponte Vecchio and the Duomo.

I bambini della seconda scuola avevano solo 4 o 5 anni, ma hanno cantato con noi un canto veramente dolce, in perfetto inglese, sull'essere amici. Siccome era un bellissimo giorno ed avevamo del tempo libero, siamo andati in città per fare foto avendo come obiettivo Ponte Vecchio e il Duomo.

We became the subject of many tourists’ photographs that morning! Next we ran to another school in Levane where the children were eagerly awaiting our arrival.

Siamo stati il soggetto di molti fotografi turisti quella mattina! Dopo abbiamo corso fino ad un'altra scuola in Levano dove i bambini stavano prontamente aspettando il nostro arrivo.

They had made lots of drawings and a banner for us.

Avevano creato molti disegni ed una bandiera per noi.

We continued running alongside the river Arno to Arrezzo, a typical mediaeval town in the heart of Tuscany. After meeting the children at a school on the outskirts of the town we headed up the hill to the Municipio, where we had the unique experience of being early for our meeting with the city representative.

Abbiamo continuato a correre lungo il fiume Arno fino ad Arezzo, una tipica città medioevale nel cuore della Toscana. Dopo aver incontrato i bambini nella scuola della periferia della città ci siamo diretti in collina verso il Municipio, dove abbiamo avuto l'esperienza unica di essere in anticipo per il nostro incontro con il rappresentante della città.

After the initial introductions in the Piazza we were taken inside the Municipio itself and had a meeting in their conference room upstairs with its stone vaulted ceiling. He was charming and gracious and he appreciated what the Harmony Run is trying to do in a very personal way. He told us that he was also involved in initiatives in the field of sport to bring people together and to recognise our common humanity. He put the World Harmony Run T-shirt over his smart suit and ran with us outside, holding the torch.

Dopo le iniziali introduzioni nella Piazza siamo stati accolti nel Municipio stesso e avuto un incontro nella loro sala delle conferenze al piano superiore con il suo soffitto di pietra a volta. Il rappresentante della città è stato cortese e affascinante ed ha apprezzato quello che la WHR sta provando a fare in un modo davvero personale. Ci ha detto anche di essere stato coinvolto in iniziative nel campo dello sport per portare le persone a stare insieme e riconoscere la nostra comune umanità. Si è messo la maglietta della WHR sopra il suo elegante abito da uomo ed ha corso con noi fuori, tenendo la torcia.

Our accommodation overlooked the city and surrounding hills, so we enjoyed our daily slide show in the evening sitting on the balcony of a beautiful Tuscan villa.

La nostra sistemazione aveva vista sulla città e le colline vicino, così abbiamo gioito lo spettacolo del nostro crollo quotidiano alla sera sedendo sul balcone di una bella villa toscana.
