Italy 30 April, Altamura - Bari

Our last day in Italy started with a run from Altamura to Matera.

The cities in this region of Italy are really impressive: built to withstand any hostile attack they usually reside on the top of the hills.

Matera is an extraordinary place: famous for its caves and historic part we were really excited to go there.

At the entrance a large group of local runners awaited us and we went for a 1 hour run all around the city! Happily we got one of those special runs: a good workout combined with making friends and a guided city tour...

After Matera we headed straight north for Bari. The last time that we enjoyed the green fields (usually its quite dry in this region, so only for a few couples of weeks the trees and flowers blossoms...) and country side roads...

As we arrived in Bari local runners accompanied us through the city and we finished downtown. Usually the traffic in Bari is extreme, but Sunday afternoon is probably the best time for a run through the city...

The last place we visited was a home for retired people: they gave us a great welcome and after a evening meal we enjoyed some performances.

At 23:00 we took the night boat to Albania for a new adventure on the World Harmony Run.

Thanks to Italy and all the great people who helped the Run so much! We will definitely will be back soon for another successful WHR!
