Anzio - the main square of the city, and the children of the "Primo Circolo Didattico via Ambrosini"school welcomed us with incredible enthusiasm!

Ad Anzio i bambini del"Primo Circolo Didattico via Ambrosini" ci hanno accolto nella piazza centrale della città con incredibile entusiasmo!

The children and their teachers worked hard the few days prior to our arrival... and they welcomed us with banners, drawings, balloons, flags, torches...

I bambini hanno lavorato duro con i loro insegnanti nei giorni precedenti la nostra visita... e ci hanno accolto con striscioni, disegni, palloncini, bandierine, fiaccole...

..and with poems and colourful performances.... they also gave us a very nice letter they had written for us!

...e con poesie e performances.... ci hanno hanno anche consegnato una bellissima lettera che hanno scritto per noi!

...we all passed the torch from hand to hand...

...ci siamo tutti passati la fiaccola di mano in mano...

...at the end of the ceremony the children released their balloons to the sky, to carry their hopes for peace...

...alla fine della cerimonia i bambini hanno rilasciato i loro palloncini in cielo, per portare le loro speranze di pace...

...and accompanied us for a brief distance, together with the Community Representative of Sport... he presented us with a precious book about the history of the town of Anzio...

...e ci hanno accompagnato per un breve tratto insieme all'Assessore dello Sport... che ci ha donato un prezioso libro sulla storia di Anzio...

...the welcome by the children of "Circolo Didattico S. D'Acquisto", in Nettuno, Anzio's twin city...

...il benvenuto dei bambini del "Circolo Didattico S. D'Acquisto", a Nettuno, città gemella di Anzio...

...they sang the national anthem...

...cantando l'inno nazionale italiano...

The children try to guess what country our runners are from... if they win we have to sing a song for them! They won, so we sang our official World Harmony Run song...

I bambini provano a indovinare di che paese siamo... se vincono dobbiamo cantare una canzone!

Hanno vinto loro e gli abbiamo cantato l'inno della World Harmony Run...

...then the children passed the torch to each other...

...poi i bambini si sono passati la fiaccola l'un l'altro...

...and offered a musical performance in our honour!

...e ci hanno offerto una performance musicale in onore della nostra visita!

...the runners of the "Podistica Terracina" ran with us to the town boundary!

...35 km to the south... the coast near Gaeta, an amazing sight to behold!

...35 km più a sud... la costa vicino Gaeta, che meravigliosa vista!

6 km outside the city, the runners of the Atletica Club Nautica joined us...

6 km prima della città si sono uniti a noi i corridori dell'Atletica Club Nautica...

...and later a basketball team...

...e più avanti i ragazzi di una squadra di basket...
