Our last day in Italy was the perfect finish to an incredible two weeks of World Harmony Run - full of happy faces, smiles and cheers!

La nostra ultima giornata in Italia è stata la perfetta conclusine di due incredibili settimane di WHR, piene di volti sorridenti, sorrisi e festeggiamenti!

The first meeting in the morning brought us to "Vittorino da Feltre" college.

Il primo incontro della mattina ci ha portati al liceo pedagogico "Vittorino da Feltre".

We met a selection of students in an auditorium and presented the Run...
Abbiamo incontrato una selezione degli studenti nell’aula magna e presentato loro la Corsa…

Usually we visit schools with younger students, but we had lots of fun: the torch passing woke everybody up and a dynamic run around the school was the real highlight...

Di solito visitiamo scuole con studenti più piccoli, però ci siamo divertiti molto: il passarci la fiaccola di mano in mano ha portato entusiasmo in tutti quanti e la festosa corsa intorno alla scuola è stata il momento culminante…

Next was "6˚Circolo Didattico Viola" Primary School.

Subito dopo abbiamo visitato la scuola primaria "6˚Circolo Didattico Viola"

The kids welcomed us in a very colourful way: they prepared flags from all the countries and sang Beethoven's "Ode to Joy" for us!

I bambini ci hanno dato il benvenuto in un modo estremamente colorato: avevano preparato bandiere di tutti i paesi e hanno cantato per noi sulle note dell’Inno Alla Gioia!

Afterwards we went in the gym for a presentation on passing the torch...

Poi siamo andati in palestra per presentare la Corsa e passarci la fiaccola…

...can you feel harmony?...
…puoi sentire armonia?...

...the school had its own "guards" to regulate the meeting with the kids....

…la scuola aveva I suoi “vigili” per “regolare” l’incontro con I bambini…

Right afterwards we went to "Rosario Livitino-Renata Fonte" - Pre-school...

Subito dopo siamo andati alla scuola materna "Rosario Livitino-Renata Fonte"…

...it's always a lot of fun to spend some time with the very young "bambini"!...

…ci da sempre molta gioia passare del tempo con i più piccolini!...

...they took it very seriously...

…ci hanno preso molto seriamente…

....again, Taranto announced the World Harmony Run throughout the city...

…ancora una volta c’era l’annuncio della visita della WHR sui display elettronici in giro per tutta Taranto…

At noon we were invited to the city hall. The mayor was out of town, but a city representative and the representative of sports welcomed us on his behalf...

A mezzogiorno avevamo appuntamento in Comune. Il Sindaco non era in città, ma l’Assessore allo Sport e altri rappresentanti del consiglio comunale ci hanno dato il benvenuto in sua vece…

...we got nice souvenirs...
…abbiamo ricevuto dei bei ricordi della città…

...our last school in Italy: the primary school "6˚Circolo Didattico Lorenzini"!

This school was definitely one of the highlights of our two-week program.

…la nostra ultima scuola in Italia: la primaria "X Circolo Didattico Lorenzini"! La scuola è stata sicuramente uno dei momenti culminanti delle nostre due settimane in Italia.

...the kids prepared little torches made of paper...

…I bambini hanno preparato delle piccole fiaccole fatte di cartoncino…

The children surprised us with a Wingtsun martial arts demonstration...

Ci hanno sorpreso con una dimostrazione di arti marziali Wingtsun…

...a little "beacon" made of rose petals...

…un piccolo braciere “alimentato” con petali di rosa…

...a real parade of happiness!...
…una vera parata di felicità!...

...and more for our happiness...
…e ancora con nostra grande gioia…

…siamo saliti a bordo del traghetto per la Grecia…

With good memories we said "Goodbye" to Italy. Over the last two weeks we met many people with big hearts, had great food and ran through beautiful nature: all our gratitude to the coordinators, schools and runners!

Abbiamo detto addio all’Italia portando con noi tanti bei ricordi. Nelle ultime due settimane abbiamo incontrato molte persone con un grande cuore, gustato cibi deliziosi e corso attraverso una natura meravigliosa: tutta la nostra gratitudine ai coordinatori, alle scuole e ai corridori!
