Serbia 7 July: Zrenjanin - Belgrade

A new WHR day in Serbia! We started in Zrenjanin and reached soon Ečka.

Novi dan THS (Trke harmonije sveta) u Srbiji! Startovali smo u Zrenjaninu i ubrzo stigli u Ečku.

Runners joined in and together we reached the cultural centre of the community.

Pridružili su nam se drugi trkači i zajedno smo stigli pred kulturni centar omladine.

...the deputy mayor of Ečka received the torch...

...zamenik gradonačelnika Ečke primio je baklju...


...despite the dresses the girls ran enthusiastically a few steps...
...iako su bile u haljinama, devojke su entuzijastično potrčale nekoliko metara...

In Perlez the scouts organised a relay. Every few hundred meters another runner was waiting and carried the torch to the next....

U Perlezu izviđači su organozovali štafetu. Svakih sto metara drugi trkač čekao je i nosio baklju do sledećeg trkača...

As we reached Idvor, another group of runners welcomed us...

Na ulazu u Idvor, dočekala nas je druga grupa trkača...

Idvor is the birthplace of Michail Pupin, a famous scientist form the 19th century...

Idvor je mesto rođenja Mihajla Pupina, čuvenog naučnika iz 19. veka...

...a short but nice meeting in the local museum....

...kratak, ali lep susret u mesnom muzeju...

Kovačica was the next place we visited.

Kovačica je bila sledeće mesto koje smo posetili.

...it felt like being on a local bus - whenever we reached a bus stop, a group of runners joined in....

...kao da smo bili u mesnom autobusu - kad god bismo stigli na autobusku stanicu, pridružila bi nam se neka grupa trkača...

Dočekao nas je zamenik gradonačelnika...

After the meeting we went in the Gallery of Naive Art. The naive art is a special traditional way of painting cherished in Serbia.We got a nice guided tour and refreshments....

Posle susreta otišli smo u Galeriju naivne umetnosti. Naivna umetnost je posebni tradicionalni način slikanja koji se neguje u Srbiji. Tamo smo imali dobrog vodiča i osveženje...

In Pančevo we were received in a park.


U Pančevu su nas dočekali u parku.

The city representative and a group of kids waited for us...

Čekali su nas predstavnik grada i grupa dečice...

Finally we reached Belgrade. The highlight of the day was the meeting in the Parliament.

Konačno smo stigli u Beograd. Vrhunac dana bio je susret u Skupštini.

The Parliament of Serbia welcomed the WHR with a huge 14 meter!!!! flag!

Skupština Srbije poželela je dobrodošlicu THS ogromnom zastavom od 14 metara!!!!

....the red carpet was provided for our international runners!

...obezbeđen je crveni tepih za naše internacionalne trkače!

....a big group of runners approached the Parliament. Among the runners was Dragan Jacimovic, famous mountain climber and first Serbian who climbed the Mount Everest without oxygen....

...velika grupa trkača stigla je pred Skupštinu. Među trkačima bio je i Dragan Jaćimović, čuveni planinar i prvi Srbin koji se popeo na planinu Everest bez oksigena.

...the runners climbed the steps and entered the Parliament on the red carpet!

...trkači su se popeli uz stepenice i ušli u Skupštinu trčeći duž crvenog tepiha!

Mrs. Slavica Đukić Dejanović, president of the National Parliament of the Republic of Serbia, kindly welcomed the World Harmony Run and received the flaming torch in the big hall of the parliament.

Gospođa Slavica Đukić Dejanović, predsednica Skupštine Srbije, ljubazno je dočekala Trku harmonije sveta i primila upaljenu baklju u velikom holu Skupštine.

Mrs. Slavica Đukić Dejanović refered in her speach to the UNESCO 2010 - International Year for the Rapprochement of Cultures, which is proudly suported by the WHR!

Gospođa Slavica Đukić Dejanović u svom govoru spomenula je UNESCO 2010-Internacionalnu godinu zbližavanja kultura koju ponosno podržava THS!

After a welcome speech she received a special emblem with her personal presidental flag of the parliament on one side and the WHR flag on the other...

Nakon govora dobrodošlice, ona je primila poseban amblem koji sa jedne prikazuje grb Skupštine, a sa druge strane logo Trke harmonije sveta.

 

...we honored Mrs. Slavica Đjukić Dejanović with the Torch Bearer Award for her efforts to promote the ideals of friendship and harmony in the Serbian Parliament as well as in her many daily activities...

...uručili smo gospođi Slavici Đukić Dejanović Nagradu nosioca baklje za njene napore u promociji prijateljstva i harmonije u Skupštini Srbije kao i u mnogim njenim dnevnim aktivnostima...

...Franjo Mihalič, the famous Serbian Olympic Medallist and 92 years young, still promotes running!


...Franjo Mihalič, čuveni srpski nosilac olimpijske medalje i "samo" 92 godine star, još uvek promoviše trčanje!

Special thanks to the Hungarian and the Macedonian Ambassador for joining the meeting, as the two neighbour countries passed on the torch to Serbia and will receive the torch from Serbia...


Posebna zahvalnost ambasadorima Mađarske i Makedonije što su prisustvovali susretu kao dve susedne zemlje od kojih je prva predala baklju Srbiji, a druga tek treba da je primi od Srbije...
