USA 23 July: Cambridge, WI - Chicago, IL

Our day began with a reluctant farewell to our host Patty Chang, General Manager of the Best Western InnTowner. Patty very generously gave us eleven rooms - one each - all in their Highland Club floor.

The entire staff came out for a farewell photo and sent us on our merry way. Thank you all very much.

Next stop was the US Cellular Field where we were part of the pre-game show for a White Sox game - that's baseball.

We relayed the torch around the field picking up a runner every 40 yards or so.

Our run was captured on the big screen.

When we presented White Sox pitcher Gavin Floyd with the torch at home plate. All his team mates encouraged him to run a lap - which he did - great going Gavin!

The White Sox currently, in first place, went on to win the game - congratulations - it must have been Gavin's warm up lap.

Some fans wanted to hold the torch as we were heading out.

Next we headed Victory's Banner - Chicago's best vegetarian restaurant for a late lunch.

The women's team getting ready to do some serious eating.

This customer was celebrating her birthday so we presented her the torch.

Then more people wanted to touch the torch and share their wishes for harmony.

Victory's Banner proprietor, Pradhan, was very happy to welcome back Erik - one of his staff - who ran with us from Seattle to Chicago. Thanks Erik - great to have you with us.

Fraymond (left) was very proud of his nephew Dave Morrison who ran with us from Seattle to Chicago. Great going Dave - wonderful to have you.

The team then headed out to run along the shores of Lake Michigan in memory of Patty Chang's neice, Candie Jaeger, who sadly passed away from cancer. Today was her funeral in Chicago.

The team observed a moment's silence in honor of Candie.
