USA 24 July: Chicago, IL

Our day began with another excellent meal at Victory's Banner. Their breakfast is absolutely outstanding!

From there we were off to the Chinese American Services League (CASL), where we were wonderfully welcome by the elderly and

the young.

Our good friend Brenda - who works at CASL - arranged for us the give a nice presentation on the run and the importance of world harmony. It was very interesting to hear our ceremony translated into Cantonese.

Several groups of the children created posters on the theme of harmony. The posters were then given to the seniors to add the artistic art of caligraphy. After which they were cut into pieces to make puzzles.

The children and the runners worked together to solve these puzzles.

Ester - the executive director - offered some kind and encouraging words to the team.

And then we were presented with this master piece of caligraphy art.

After a nice photo session outside, we were off to the Cirque du Soleil!

The show was absolutely amazing. The level of professionalism, artistry, musicianship and skill was just off the charts. It was the first experience for many of the runners. It definately will not be the last! We all just loved the show.

We also were quite blessed to meet a couple of the performers from Mongolia and Vancouver.

They held the torch in a very unique way! Then it was question and answer time. However, the tables were turned and it was us asking the questions about this incredible show. Thank you for completely awing us Cirque du Soleil!
