USA 23 April: Raleigh, NC - Winston-Salem, NC

This morning the team gathered at Carrboro town hall where we were greeted by Carrboro's friendly Mayor Mr Mark Chilton.

The World Harmony Run gave a Torch-Bearer Award to Sam Winstead. Mr. Winstead is a former U.S. Marine who served in World War Two and is the founder of Americans for Peace. Now aged 86, he has planned a 29 April bike ride for peace from Raleigh to Washington D.C., a journey of 350 miles!

North Carolina State Senator Ellie Kinnaird also greeted us. She is in her 8th term in the North Carolina Senate. She strives for an open and honest government that reduces the influence of money in politics and is responsive to the needs and will of the people of North Carolina.

Then we were off to Binkley Preschool to meet with a bunch of enthusiastic kids.

Zuzana, from Czech Republic shares the torch around the circle.

Meeting with children and seeing both their joy and soulful understanding of the World Harmony Run energises us to carry on.

On the road again. We had to cover 90 miles as a team today to get us to Winston-Salem.

Next stop: Winston Salem Baseball Club...

where we met with the players from Winston-Salem Dash before their home game vs Virginia's Potomac Nationals.

Unfortunately we couldn't stay for the whole game but the home team won 4-1, great job y'all!

Thanks to Prakhara (pictured holding the torch) our local coordinator, for organizing a great day. It was fun to visit her home town for some famous southern hospitality and we just luv the way y'all tawk :)

A big thank you to Moe's for the complimentary delicious dinner.

Sundance Plaza kindly hosted the entire team once again. Thank you for your extended generosity!
