Caribbean 4 June: Puerto Rico

We arrived in San Juan Puerto Rico to a warm reception by members of the Sri Chinmoy Marathon Team. It was great to be with old friends and to immerse ourselves in a completely new culture. Jitavrata impressed us all with his grasp of the spanish language.

We began our day meeting with Puerto Rico's former Secretary of State, Mr. Juan Albors, who had breakfast with us and shared his views on how important the spirit of the run is.

Later in the day we were honored to take part in a 5km fun-run to raise mony for youth at risk. The organisation Centro de Acogida Sosten Agustino is the only organisation in Puerto Rico which works with both children and parents to resolve issues which put children at risk.

Our next apointment was with Luis at the Trattoria Di Parma who fed us sumptiously .

The Hazelnut Creme Brulee is to die for.

Also we would like to thank Island Breeze for dinner last night

and La Patisserie for breakfast this morning.
