Today's Run was like a guided tour through German City Halls: seven meetings with mayors, and lots of km to run!...

Unser heutiger Tag kam eine Tour durch deutsche Rathäuser gleich: sieben Empfänge bei Bürgermeistern und viele Kilometer....

After 70km we arrived in Helmstedt: the Mayor received us and ran with us a bit, too!

Nach 70 km erreichten wir Helmstedt: der Bürgermeister empfing uns und lief mit uns ein Stück!

We arrived in Königslutter early. The mayor walked out of his house just as we came around the corner, so he had no choice but to run with us to City Hall!

In Königslutter trafen wir zu früh ein. Als der Bürgermeister sein Haus verlies, liefen wir gerade um die Ecke. so blieb ihm keine andere Wahl als mit uns zum Rathaus mitzulaufen!

The Triathlon Club of Königslutter carried the torch quite a distance towards the next meeting...

Der Triathlonverein von Königslutter trug die Fackel ein gutes Stück Richtung nächsten Empfang...

Braunschweig was next: old buildings give a special flair to the city....

Braunschweig war unser nächstes Ziel: alte Gebäude kreieren ein spezielles Flair in der Stadt....

The Mayor received us warmly in the traditional City Hall!

Die Bürgermeiserin empfing uns herzlich im traditionsreichen Rathaus!

We were asked to sign the golden book of the City of Braunschweig!

Wir durften uns im goldenen Buch der Stadt Braunschweig eintragen!

...and we kept running through beautiful countryside. Big clouds were hanging in the sky....

...und wir liefen weiter durch eine wunderschöne Landschaft. Dicke Wolken hingen über uns....

...Navigation is not always simple....

...but we managed to reach Peine! Thanks to the Mayor for the welcome!

In Lehrte the Deputy Mayor received us. Our team arrived in waves, so we had to take a group picture abour five times!

In Lehrte empfing uns der Vize Bürgermeister. Unser Team traf auf Raten ein, sodaß wir das Gruppenbild wahrscheinlich fünfmal aufnahmen!

The Mayor brought us into the city council chambers, and explained the geography of the city as well as the history, with the help of a floor-mosaic in the shape of the city map!

Der Bürgermeister erklärte uns im Sitzungssaal die Geografie und die Geschichte Hannovers an Hand einer Landkarte, welche im Steinboden eingelegt war!

A honourable end for the WHR, through German City Halls! Thanks to all the coordinators.

Ein würdiger Abschluß für einen WHR, durch deutsche Rathäuser! Vielen Dank an alle Organisatoren!
