Our first meeting of the day was with the wonderful kids of "Harkort" Primary School.

School director Mrs. Zimmermann-Budniak received a harmony run certificate of appreciation on behalf of her school and its efforts to spread harmony.

Schulleiterin Frau Zimmermann-Budniak nahm die WHR - Urkunde für die ganze Schule entgegen. Die Urkunde ist unsere Wertschätzung für all jene Anstrengungen, welche Personen für Frieden und Harmonie machen.

The Ruhr region is famous for its abundance of coal mines, many of which have disappeared recently.

The Zeche-Zollverein Essen has been modified into an exhibition centre where people can see old ways of coal mining and can have a great view, too...

Das Ruhrgebiet ist berühmt für seinen Kohlebergbau während den vergangenen Jahrzehnten. Die Zeche-Zollverein Essen wurde zu einem Informationszentrum umgebaut, wo man die Geschichte des Bergbaus im Ruhrgebiet verfolgen kann.

Once the largest and most productive coal mine in the world, the Zollverein Mine was closed in 1986.

Ehemals die größte und produktivste Kohlegrube der Welt, wurde die Zeche-Zollverein Mine Essen 1986 geschlossen....

...thank you for the tour through the Zollverein Coal Mine Industrial Complex! In 2001 this industrial monument was included on the UNESCO World Heritage list as a leading example of the development of heavy industry in Europe.

Next we went to Duisburg: the Merez-Moschee Duisburg is the biggest mosque in Germany, capable of holding 2,000 people.

Als nächstes war Duisburg an der Reihe: die Merez - Moschee in Duisburg ist die größte Moschee in Deutschland und bietet mehr als 2000 Personen Platz!

We were very honoured to be invited to this special place; besides being the centre of the Islamic comunity of Germany, the mosque is also a meeting point for many faiths and cultures.

Wir freuten uns besonders auf dieses Meeting, da die Moschee neben einer islamischen Gemeinschaft auch eine Begegnungsstätte für Menschen aller Religionen und Kulturen ist.

After the official ceremony, we were invited to visit the mosque. The building is about 2 years old and is extremely beautiful. A lot of effort has been put in to make it so elaborate: people from all over Europe contributed in many different ways and made the mosque a unique place of prayer and service...

Nach dem offiziellen Teil wurden wir eingeladen die Moschee zu besichtigen. Das Gebäude ist knapp zwei Jahre alt und wunderschön dekoriert. Menschen aus ganz Europa haben den Bau unterstützt und dazu beigetragen aus der Moschee einen Ort des Gebets und der Begegnung zu machen...

Finally we reached the border between Germany and the Netherlands and a very successful WHR in Germany came to an end. Again a big "Thank you" to all the people who made this year's Run such a great experience!

Schliesslich erreichten wir die Grenze zwischen Deutschland und Holland. Ein sehr erfolgreicher WHR 2010 in Deutschland neigte sich dem Ende zu. Nochmals ein herzliches Dankeschön an Alle für die großartige Erfahrung und all die Gastfreundschaft!
