Iceland 27 March: Reykjavík

The first World Harmony Run event in the year 2008 took place today, when the local Harmony runners visited 3 schools. We started in Ártúnsskóli. This school has featured in most of our Harmony Runs. We keep coming back, because it is such a small school, and, consequently, the visit becomes so much more intimate; like a family gathering almost!

Next school, Laugarnesskóli, was a lot bigger. We gave our standard World Harmony Run presentation, followed by a slideshow of a selection of Ondrej's amazing pictures from 2007 in Iceland.

Then the kids assembled on the playground and ran round after round with the torch. Everyone got to hold the torch - always two and two together at least.

The last school of the day was Hlíðaskóli. There the kids were so excited, and had so much excess energy they needed to burn off after the morning, that they kept jumping up and down, even while we were passing the torch around and making a wish for Harmony. Maybe the cold had a role to play in their wish to keep moving...
