USA 23 June: Lincoln City, OR - Portland, OR

Though Portland is a beautiful city, it was very difficult to run away from the gorgeous coast inland towards Portland.

A very nice bright side to leaving the coast was reconnecting with an old friend. Rusty Pranger joined us for the day. He did the entire run back in 1999.

He ran with us today as we made our way through the warmest temperatures that we have experienced for some time now.

It was hard to believe that over 10 years had past us by since we last ran together. (I think I shrank a little.:-)

Evidently, our beloved Greeny (one of the support vans) reached 150,000 miles today. (sorry slow day for photos.:-) )

Many thanks to the Olive Garden for once again providing the team with an excellent meal.

The staff was very enthusiastic for our cause. (not sure who's left working inside)

We extend a debt of gratitude to the Best Western Pony Soldier for hosting the team tonight in Portland. They truly did serve us from the heart.
