USA 27 May: Pagosa Springs, CO - Durango, CO

We had wonderful accommodations in Pagosa Springs last night at the Hillside Inn and the Alpine Inn next door. We are always very grateful for the complimentary rooms offered to us by the kind and supportive management of these very nice hotels.

Daulot works on waterproofing the roof of our motorhome we call the RV.

The boys’ team was on lunch preparation today and seemed to have everything under control in the RV kitchen.

Tom does a mime for Matthias wearing his gloves which he had to wear due to the near freezing temperature this morning in the mountains of Pagosa Springs.

Our running takes us through the beautiful mountainous and green Colorado. And the cool winds offer a respite from weeks of intense heat.

Our torch maker, Udar, is constantly making improvements in our new torches. This is a new gadget to fill the torch and will hopefully make life easier as we handle the torches every day.

In this very attractive green and hilly countryside we wind our way through valleys lined with rocky hills and green pastures.

We meet many people stopping for us on the road…

...and some very interested animals along the way as well.

This friendly dog greeted us at the service counter of the Hillside Inn all ready to check us in, or out, for the day.

A few members of the team not only are runners but also art critics checking out one of the many galleries and shops in downtown Durango.

We finished the day supremely satisfied by a most delicious meal at the Himalayan Kitchen in Durango. The food was excellent and the enthusiastic staff all wanted to hold the torch with us.
