53. Kevin Martin

Kevin Martin has been active in the running community for over 30 years. A keen cyclist in his youth, he first became interested in running while living in Karratha, WA. During this time he was President of the local club from 1990 – 2000, organising and participating in many events including the famous Black Rock Stakes, a wheelbarrow race, which raises funds for local community groups and organisations.

Moving to Bunbury in 2001, he continued his involvement in running with the Bunbury Runners Club, helping the club grow and become one of Western Australia’s strongest running clubs. Serving as vice-president twice and continuing as race director for the very successful annual Bunbury Marathon and 50 km events, he finds his main focus now is encouraging others to participate and set goals to reach their maximum fitness potential.

Kevin achieved his personal best marathon time of 2 hrs 53 mins when he was 47 years-old.
