Czech Republic 11 July: German Border - Zadov

After running through Germany for a few days, we came to the border of the Czech Republic. We took a picture there with the border police from both countries and the Czech runners from Sri Chinmoy Marathon Team.

Soon we were running into the magical landscapes of Sumava with many hills, pine trees, beautiful vistas and fairy-tale forests with small streams flowing next to the roads.

Brzy na to jsme běželi nádhernou krajinou Šumavy s mnoha kopci, borovicemi, s krásným výhledem a pohádkovým lesem, kterým podél cesty protékaly potůčky.

To add to the magic, there were fresh blueberries to be picked in the forest while we were waiting for the runners to arrive.

On our way, we met some sporty Czechs on their bikes and had a little chat with them. Great biking on those hills guys! Keep going!

Cestou jsme potkali české cyklisty, s kterými jsme prohodili pár slov. Opravdu dobrá práce do těch kopců! Jen do toho!

We passed through nice mountain villages just like this one ...

After a few uphill runs our road finally started to descend.

Po několika kopcích nakonec příšlo klesání.

We arrived in the village of Zdakov, a popular place for both summer and winter holidays. The mayor received us very warmly, with some people from the fire department. He spoke the first Czech words of welcome to our team and we all received a beautiful brochure from the area.

Most of the children were on holidays, but a few stayed and gave us nice smiles.

And on our way to our hotel in Zadov, Misa made friends with four nice horses (but they were especially fond of the nice organic carrots from Germany that she fed them!!!).

At the end of the day we could not resist enjoying the beauty of the Sumava National Park, especially Jezerni slat and Horska Kvilda.

Na konci dne jsme nemohli odolat nepotěšit se krásami Šumavského národního parku, zvláště pak Jezerní Slatí a Horskou Kvildou
