Germany 29 April: Rotenburg - Hamburg

All gratitude to the Best Western Hotel "zur Post" in Bremen for hosting our team! Judith from the Marketing department of the Best Western Hotel joined us even running the day before and carried the torch on behalf of the hotel staff through Bremen...

...after Rotenburg we had to cover lonely km's through dense forrests. Luckily we got some company...

..we reached Tostedt. Local runners carried the torch into the community...

...Mayor Netzel welcomed us. A nice, spontaneous conversation took place. We really love those meetings, as we get to know more about the various parts of the world and good insights into the country...

...the maps on the cars serve us well...

...running into Buchholz...

First city council member Jan-Hendrik Röse welcomes us...

It was a pleasure to award Mrs. Monika Griefahn with the torch Bearer Award. She dedicated her life to work selflessly in many different fields: environment, tolerance, culture and peace.

In so many way she serves as a exemplary-model for our society!

...a symbolic Run for harmony!

...we were presented with a beautiful book about the nature in Buchholz - wrapped in a fine green bag!

This Sunday we had to surrender to the Hamburg Marathon. Just as we approached Hamburg the Marathon was about to end, so no meetings took place.

We had to change the route, as there was no chance to pass with the cars! Nevertheless it turned into a nice Sunday-afternoon run through the green side of the city - joined by some local friends!
