Al mattino siamo partiti dall'albero di pace piantato la sera prima. Pare sia già un po' cresciuto...

In the morning we started at the peace tree, which had been planted the previous evening. It even grew a bit...

Siamo passati da alcune miniere. Iglesias e tutta la regione sono note per la storia di attività mineraria, di cui si trova traccia ogni qualche centinaio di metri.

We passed through the mining pits. Iglesias and the whole area around is famous for its mining tradition. You can find evidence every few hundred metres.

Siamo usciti dalla città, direzione Sant'Antioco

We made our way out of the city, heading for Sant'Antioco.

E' sempre bello incontrare persone ispirate lungo la strada, ti dà energia quando sei stanco.

It's always nice to meet inspiring people on the road; it gives you energy when you're tired.

Attenzione ai pericoli della strada!
Look out for roadside hazards!

Qui c'è un podista che sa come divertirsi... almeno dopo avere bevuto tre caffé a colazione!

Now there's a runner who knows how to enjoy himself...well, after he's had 3 espressos for breakfast at least!

Ed ecco qua le insegnanti della cooperativa sociale le Api che ci hanno atteso alle Porte Romane di Sant'Antioco insiema con l'Assessore dello Sport.

The teachers of "le api" were waiting for us along with the sport Assessore.

L'Assessore Paolo Garau si è preso cura di noi durante tutto il soggiorno; in attesa di correre, una della nostre podiste gli ha mostrato degli esercizi di riscaldamento.

The Assessore of Sport met with us, and one of our runners was teaching him some warm-up stretches.

Corsa sull'antico ponte romano.

He took us across an old Roman bridge.

Entrando in Sant'Antioco ci aspettava un folto gruppo di grandi e piccini.

Entering Sant'Antioco; a big group of people of all ages met us.

Abbiamo riso con gran gusto...

Laughs and joy were shared together...

...e condiviso momenti di pace.

...and peaceful moments.

L'assessore Garau è stato instancabile !

The Assessore Garau would not get tired!

Andando avanti per il paese abbiamo passato la fiaccola quasi a tutti.

Almost everyone in the city held the torch as we ran through the streets.

Qualcuno era molto sorpreso dell'arrivo della torcia, in effetti era senza parole.

Some were quite surprised at the torch's arrival, in fact they were speechless.

Tra i tanti hanno partecipato i ragazzi della A.S.D. Antiochense e di alcune scuole.

The kids of the A.S.D. Antiochense and some schools took part.

Dopo avere attraversato tutta la cittadina, siamo infine arrivati al museo archeologico di Sant'Antioco dove il Sindaco Mario Corongiu ha preso in consegna la fiaccola.

After running the length of the entire city, we finally arrived at the archeological museum, where Mayor Mario Corongiu received us.

Scambio di regali...

We exchanged gifts...

...e poi la banda locale ha suonato la sua interpretazione del canto Harmony Run. Sono stati molto più bravi di noi quando cantiamo.

...and then heard a local band's rendition of the Harmony Run Song, which was a lot better than our singing!

Una bella vista per terminare una bella giornata.
