Australia 25 March: Camperdown - Geelong

River Glen Holiday Park owners pictured here with the World Harmony Run Team were so inspired by Sri Chinmoy’s dedication to peace, they named a street within their park after him in 2007. A great place to stay in Geelong.

Here we are guests at the Sri Chinmoy 6, 12 and 18km Barwon River Race in Geelong. Race Director Kishore Cunningham introduced the World Harmony Run to the competitors during the race briefing.

At the start line of the race the runners had a traditional moment of silence to prepare themselves for the journey ahead. We had a World Harmony Run Team in the event and as we ran we passed the Torch to our fellow competitors inviting them to ‘take a step for peace’. The response was fantastic and we felt tremendous support from the three hundred plus entrants.

Great view from the pusher.

We ran with the Torch on the 6km loop of the Sri Chinmoy Barwon River Race. At this point we were sprinting to catch competitors ahead of us to invite them to hold the Torch.

Some budding little champions in this field.

Harmony is friendship.

Fun Runs – a family affair. Great effort.

Some cheerful finishers of the 6km race and proud supporters of the World Harmony Run 2012.

This young boy, Lewis finished his first ever 6km fun run by carrying the World Harmony Run Torch through the finish chute. What a star. Standing here with his proud mum who crossed the finish line right behind him. Thanks for allowing us to be a part of your great achievement Lewis.

This gentleman has been competing in the Sri Chinmoy Races for thirty years.

All smiles here. Three of the women winners in today's events.

Winner of the women's 18km race was a visitor from Ireland.

Great family shot after cheering dad to the finish line.

This young boy finished the 18km race! Pictured here with proud mum.

Looking fresh after the 18km Race.

A multi-talented mum-runner. Children in one arm, Torch in the other.

The youngest competitors in today's race were very keen to hold the Torch at the end of their event.

Holding the World Harmony Run Torch with pride!
