48. Kaleteeya Aboriginal Health Team

Based out of the Gawler Health Service members of the Kaleteeya Aboriginal Health Team includes Mary Graham, Simone Taylor, Lizzie Graham-Pichugin, Craig Wanganeen and Kristien Smith. The team is contributing to the development of Aboriginal health in Gawler and surrounding areas by running programs that reflect the health needs of the local Aboriginal community such as an Aboriginal community lunch that promotes better health outcomes through community consultation and education sessions and also an early childhood intervention program supporting children to reach their full potential. In addition they run a women's wellbeing program that focuses on all aspects of wellbeing and are currently developing a men's health program.

The team also oversees the implementation of the Cultural Respect Framework which includes cultural awareness training, acknowledgement of land and developing partnerships with health professions, other agencies and community organisations. The teams success is a result of every members commitment and passion in what they do, extending well above their job requirements.
