Iceland 15 May: Reykjavík

Today we visited Háteigsskóli school to show our appreciation for the kids' effort in the World Harmony drawing contest. We started indoors and talked about the aims of the Run

Í dag heimsóttum við Háteigsskóla til að votta virðingu okkar fyrir þátttöku krakkanna í myndasamkeppni Friðarhlaupsins. Við byrjuðum innandyra og krakkarnir fræddust um markmið Friðarhlaupsins.

Once we got outdoors, the kids were eager to run with the Torch.

Krakkarnir voru spenntir að fá að hlaupa með kyndilinn.

We ran so many rounds around the schoolyard, that I'm sure we set some kind of a record.

Við hlupum hring eftir hring á skólalóðinni og allir fengu að hlaupa með kyndilinn.

Everyone posed for a group picture with our banner, which displays the founder of the Run, Sri Chinmoy.

Við tókum hópmynd við borða Friðarhlaupsins, en á honum er mynd af stofnanda hlaupsins, Sri Chinmoy.

Finally, the teachers received our Certificate of Appreciation and said they would find a very nice place for it in the school. We are sure to check it out next time we come! All the kids are eager to run with us this coming July, when the Run will travel around Iceland. They will also come for the opening of the international drawing exhibition, which will take place at 10.00 on Thursday 16 July in Kringlan, Reykjavík.

Að lokum tóku kennararnir á móti viðurkenningarskjalinu okkar og sögðust ætla að finna góðan stað fyrir það í skólanum. Við kíkjum á það næst þegar við komum í heimsókn! Allir krakkarnir eru spenntir að hlaupa með okkur í júlí, þegar Friðarhlaupið fer hringinn í kringum landið. Þau ætla líka að koma á alþjóðlegu myndasýninguna, sem opnar fimmtudaginn 16. júlí kl.10.00 í Kringlunni.
