Iceland 14 May: Reykjavík

It was our great and good fortune to meet with the Mayor of Reykjavík, Jón Gnarr, today.

Það var okkur mikil gæfa að hitta borgarstjórann í Reykjavík, Jón Gnarr, í dag.

Today the World Harmony Run participated in the multi-cultural day of Reykjavík. And the Mayor, Jón Gnarr, was there to start today's parade.

Í dag tók Friðarhlaupið þátt í fjölmenningardegi Reykjavíkur og þá var Jón Gnarr þar til að ýta skrúðgöngu dagsins úr vör.

Not only the Mayor, but also people from many different cultures got the chance to make a wish for harmony in the world.

En Jón Gnarr var ekki einn um að fá að óska heiminum friðar. Í dag fengu fjölmargir Reykvíkingar, af ýmsu bergi brotnir, að halda á Friðarkyndlinum.

The World Harmony Run wishes to thank Mayor Jón Gnarr and all the other torch bearers of the day, for their support to world harmony.

Friðarhlaupið þakkar Jóni Gnarr og öllum kyndilberum dagsins fyrir stuðninginn við frið í heiminum.

The World Harmony Run proudly supports the International Year of Youth (IYY) and the International Year of Forests (IYF) proclaimed by the United Nations General Assembly.

See the recent Youtube video on African experience which illustrates IYY slogan "Our Year Our Voice"  International Year of Youth - Zambia World Harmony. They surprisingly mention Presidents and UN Secretary-General in a unique way!
