Iceland 12 July: Egilsstaðir - Raufarhöfn

Today's route took us around the northeastern fjords.

Í dag hlupum við um Norðausturland.

After an injury, Pranava was finaly able to run. He seemed to inspire others to run as well

Eftir að hafa gengið í gegnum smá hlaupameiðsli er Pranava aftur byrjaður að hlaupa. Sú staðreynd virðist vera öðrum dýrum hvatning.

...on the winding roads above the meandering rivers.

Vegurinn hlykkjast upp fjöllin.

Several days in a row we have been blessed with fantastic weather, so we could enjoy the endless beauty of nature.

Dag eftir dag leikur veðrið við okkur og við njótum náttúrufegurðarinnar.

Atulya does all his miles in Fivefinger shoes

Atulya hleypur alltaf í fingraskónum sínum.

In the morning we met children from Vopnafjörður.

Um morguninn hittum við krakka á Vopnafirði.

They eagerly joined our discussion on peace and harmony.

Þau voru áhugasöm um að ræða um frið, sátt og samlyndi við okkur.

Peace is in the heart.
Friðurinn býr í hjartanu.

A harmony of colors that we were priviled to enjoy.

Litasamsetning landslagsins minnir okkur á markmið okkar: sátt og samlyndi í menningarlegum fjölbreytileika.

Einar Björn from Einherji sports club at Vopnafjörður brought the kids to us.

Einar Björn frá Einherja kom með krakkana til okkar.

Vlada, an accomplished runner, enjoying the steep climb in stunning surroundings

Vlada, sem er heilmikill hlaupari, hefur gaman af bröttu hæðunum í fallegu umhverfinu.

Almost barefeet...

Þetta er næstum því eins og að hlaupa berfættur...

Jóhann came from Reykjavík to join us for a few days - miles and smiles

Jóhann kom úr Reykjavík til að hlaupa með okkur

In Bakkafjörður we were welcomed by 4 lovely and enthusiastic kids. In the whole village there were only 12 children.

Á Bakkafirði hittum við fjóra skemmtilega krakka, sem hlýtur að teljast frábært hlutfall, en okkur var sagt að alls búi tólf krakkar í þorpinu.

Feel peace, love and harmony in your heart.

Finnum frið, kærleik, sátt og samlyndi í hjartanu...

Njáll, the boy holding the torch, organized this meeting for us just 5 minutes after meeting us. Thank you!

Drengurinn sem sést á þessari mynd, Njáll, hitti okkur þegar við hlupum í þorpið og náði í hina krakkana til að vera með. Kærar þakkir, Njáll!

In the afternoon we reached Þórshöfn...

Síðla dags komum við á Þórshöfn,

...where we had an unprecedented meetin...

en þar áttum við fund sem á engan sinn líkan

...with local swimming enthusiasts.

í sundlauginni.

One lap for harmon!

Einn hring fyrir frið.

Our song sounded nice and robust in the pool's great accustics.

Hljómburðurinn í sundlauginni var frábær fyrir Friðarhlaupslagið.

All the adults join in acting out the words of the song.

Allt fullorðna fólkið tók þátt í að gera hreyfingarnar við lagið.

Thanks for a wonderful and truly unique experience!

Takk fyrir frábæra og einstaka upplifun!
