USA 6 July: Mt. Rainier

On the 6th of July, four members of our international World Harmony Run team successfully reached the summit of Mt. Rainier. The summit is 14,410 ft high.

This four-woman team was comprised of women from USA, Nepal and Canada. Pranlobha (USA), Gautami (Canada) and Rupasi (USA) with the torch.

One of the team members was Nimdoma Sherpa from Nepal. She is the youngest woman in the world to have climbed Mt. Everest, at the age of 17. She had visited Seattle specifically to climb Mt. Rainier with the team.

Apart from Nimdoma, our team had no mountaineering experience prior to this. We trained very hard and with great enthusiasm.

It was a beautiful experience, and we are all extremely happy and grateful for this life-changing opportunity.

The World Harmony Run proudly supports the International Year of Youth (IYY) and the International Year of Forests (IYF) proclaimed by the United Nations General Assembly.

See the recent Youtube video on African experience which illustrates IYY slogan "Our Year Our Voice"  International Year of Youth - Zambia World Harmony. They surprisingly mention Presidents and UN Secretary-General in a unique way!
